The Old Asylum for the Blind located next to the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow
From day one I was set on finding an old piece of Victorian architecture that was lying derelict and located as near to a hospital as possible. When I stumbled upon the Asylum for the Blind online I didn't think I could have found a site better suited to what I had been looking for.
With being located in the city centre, transport links are great. The M8 passes close by, and for those who don't drive there are great bus and train routes close by. This is particularly handy for coming to visit friends and family who are being treated in the Royal Infirmary.
A hand drawn sketch of my site helped me to analyse and understand my site better.
